The S.C.A. at Short Pump is devoted to contributing support to communities near and far. These third, fourth, and fifth-grade representatives build a sense of spirit and enthusiasm in the life of our school. We work closely with our PTA, families, and teachers in developing lifelong values as role models each day at Short Pump.
Green Team
Students in grades four and five assist with classroom recycling of paper, cardboard, plastic, cans, and bottles as well as plastic bags. They are also involved in other “green” activities around the school.
Basketball Mentor Team
Basketball Mentor Team is for students in 4th and 5th grades who enjoy basketball. Students who participate in this program are able to engage in character development while playing basketball.
Soccer Scholars
Soccer Scholars is for students in 4th and 5th grades who enjoy soccer. Students who participate in this program are able to engage in character development while playing soccer.
Running Club
The Running Club is for students in grades 3-5 who enjoy running. Students who participate in this program will learn about healthy living and grow their grit and confidence.
Dance Factor
Dance Factor is a club for students in 4th and 5th grade who enjoy dancing. During this program, students will learn different dances.
Principal’s Council
The Principal’s Council is a student advisory board to the principal who meets monthly. Students who participate are in 5th grade and are teacher selected. Members of the council meet with the principal during the school day.
Math 24 Team
Math 24 Team is a team of 5th graders who strengthen their computation skills playing Math 24. Participants meet during the school day.
Student Ambassadors
Student Ambassadors are students in 1st – 5th grades who help new students who join their classroom. These student leaders are trained by the school counselor during the first month of school.
Kids Who Care Club
Led by our Innovative Learning Coach, this club is for 4th and 5th-grade students who love to fuel their natural curiosity, code, engage in STEAM-based work and are passionate about helping their community.
Short Pump Sages
Short Pump Sages are two teacher recommended students in all classrooms, grades 2 – 5, who have budding leadership skills, an interest in technology and innovative thinking, and a willingness to help others.
